James P. Bashleben Obituary

         

James P. Bashleben of Arlington Heights Jim Bashleben passed away July
30, 2009, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Born Dec. 20, 1917, in Chicago, Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce, and their two sons, Jim and Jerry.
Jim and his wife Debi have three children, Rob, Carly (John) Partridge and Elissa (Gannon) Sungar.
Jerry and his wife Chris have two sons, Scott and Craig. Jim is also survived by his half sister, Donna Elafros.

During World War II, Jim was in the Battle of Bataan and was a survivor of the Bataan Death
March. He spent 3½ years in Japanese prisoner of war camps.
Jim and Joyce have been residents of Arlington Heights since 1955. When Jim retired from NICOR after 42 years of service, they spent 22 winters in Florida until his health began to fail.
Jim will be cremated; a private family service will be held at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
