Philippine Islands WWII History and Island Hopping Tour  

                                                                                   ~ To coincide with the Great Raid of Cabanatuan Anniversary ~

HOST:  Edna Bautista Binkowski, author of the book: 
CODE NAME HIGH POCKETS (the story of Claire Phillips, an American Matahari and the resistance during WWII in P.I.).  Edna will narrate the beginning and end of the war, from the battle of Bataan up to liberation time, as she takes you to northern part of Luzon Island.  Touch history and enjoy the beautiful blue waters of the Hundred Islands of Pangasinan, in Lingayen Gulf where Hmma’s 14th Army had landed,
and where Gen. Krueger’s 6th Army also landed to retake the Luzon Island.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jan. 24    Thu     Arrive Manila (NAIA) Transfer in to hotel

Jan. 25     Fri      Manila – Clark

     Stop at Santo Tomas University, formerly internment camp.  Know details of Dec. 8 bombing of Phils.

     Stop at San Fernando Train Station, and Clark museum.

Jan. 26 Sat        Clark-Bataan-Subic-Clark

     Visit Mt. Samat Shrine and Museum, Battle Tuol Pockets marker, Nurses Marker, General King Marker,
      starts of Death March in Bagac and Mariveles, and Hell Ship memorial in Subic. Back to Clark

Jan. 27    Sun    Clark-Capas-Pangasinan

     Visit the former Camp O’Donnell POW camp, the hell hole, and see the BOX CAR.              

Jan. 28    Mon    Hundred Islands of Pangasinan

     Enjoy the island hopping tour and picnic, snorkeling or scuba diving in this awesome place.

Jan. 29    Tue     Pangasinan – Cabanatuan

     Visit the Lingayen Veterans Park where an American fighter plane, a tank, and machine guns still stand.
      Learn about Capt. Collin Kelly, Buzz Wagner, Ed Dyess, Hank Thorne, and Gen. Krueger’s 6th Army.

Jan. 30    Wed     Cabanatuan – Manila

     Visit the Cabanatuan Memorial, former POW prison camp.  Learn about the POWs rescue, the role of the underground
       that smuggled aid, money, and medicine for the sickly POWs. Return to Manila.

Jan. 31    Thu      Manila City Tour

     Visit Intramuros, Fort Santiago, American Cemetery and Ayala Museum.  Cultural show. Hear Edna sing.

Feb. 1 Fri            Corregidor Day Tour

Feb. 2   Fri          Take your onward flight
